Henderson Winterfest Parade

Nearly 40 “Reindeer on Bicycles” participated in the Henderson Winterfest Parade on Saturday, December 13.  We were led by a Land Rover in reindeer costume and followed by a vintage 1954 Land Rover.  In between we had baby reindeer, a canine santa and a reindeer on a (very) tall bike.  The reindeer were promoting the Tour de Cure on April 4, 2009.

Check out some more of the photos from that day.  Thanks again to all who participated.

Going on this Saturday.

The Henderson Winterfest Parade is this Saturday, December 13.

“Reindeer on Bikes” is entry number 8 and we assemble at the southeast corner of Water Street and Ocean Avenue.  If you rode last year, it is just across the street from where we assembled last year.

I will have the shirts, antlers and noses for you.  All you need to bring is your bike and your helmet.

Plan to arrive no later than 9:30 and the parade will start promptly at 10 AM.  The route goes North on Water Street to Pacific Avenue and then back down Atlantic Avenue to the Events Plaza.

If  you have not yet contacted me and want to be a reindeer, email to me your shirt size and name, and names of anyone coming with you.  This is a great event to bring children and grandparents!

Questions before Saturday, send an email to me at mstokes@diabetesorg or call the ADA office at 702-369-9995 ext 7484.  My cell number is 785-4704 if you have any problems Saturday morning.

Also, We need a few reindeer to walk alongside the bicyclists to hand out Tour information flyers.  If you know anyone who prefers walking to cycling, let me know.
